Those eligible to vote in the upcoming local government election will soon receive their election packages in the mail and are reminded to have their say.

The local government election will be decided on Saturday 18 October 2025 and people are urged to return their voting ballots as soon as possible.

Election packages have started to be sent via the post, but people are reminded delivery days may differ across the community.

Due to the large volume of voters, even if you've received your ballot, others in your household may still be waiting.

Completed packages must be received by the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) by 6pm on election day Saturday 18 October 2025.

WAEC have advised election packages should be in the post before Monday 13 October 2025 to be received in time.

Completed ballot packages can also be hand delivered to the 嫩草影院 Administration Building on Cathedral Avenue until 6pm on Saturday 18 October 2025.

Mullewa District Office on the corner of Thomas and Padbury Street can also receive ballot papers during business hours, until 5pm Friday 17 October 2025.

Local government elections use the optional preferential voting system, where voters number candidates in the order of their preference. Information explaining preferential voting can be found .

If your election package has been damaged or you haven’t received it by the end of September, contact the City for further information.

Four seats will be available in this year’s election which will reduce Council from 11 Councillors down to nine, including the Mayor.

A total of 13 nominations have been received and candidate profiles can be viewed on the City’s website.
